A Saturday Night Experiment...
After a day of being outdoors and in the brisk fall air, my hands were hurting. The skin on my palms became tough and cracked and my cuticles looked sad. Then an idea popped in my head. First, I filled these cheap nail soakers with pure olive oil. I let my fingers soak for 15 min. When they were done soaking, I removed the soakers and slathered on some Goldbond Ultimate Healing Hand Lotion. I then put on a pair of those latex doctors gloves so the lotion/olive oil mixture really soaks in. I then proceeded to do homework, eat, do dishes, etc. That's one of the perks of this hand treatment, you can carry on with everyday tasks. After letting my hands soak for 2 hours, I took off the gloves. Boy was I surprised! My hand looked and felt better. It was like I had new skin. I hope to due this once a week through the winter I really recommend trying this. Have a great weekend!

Elegant French Tips
Todays mani was created using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the rhinestones I showed you the other day. I love how dainty and girly this turned. You could definitely rock this mani of many different occasions.

Breast Cancer Awareness Mani
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Did you know one in eight woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer? Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. Two of my aunts have been diagnosed with breast cancer and unfortunately one of them lost the fight in October 2011. Today I'm showing my support with this mani. I started with a base of OPI My Vampire Is Buff on all my nails. I then created a gradient on my pointer, middle, and pinky finger using Orly Cotton Candy and Orly Blushing Bud. On my ring finger I created an awareness ribbon using pink rhinestones.

Funky French-Tip Pumpkins
Please excuse the slightly blurry picture :P |
Nothing says fall and Halloween like pumpkins. October happens to be one of my favorite months mostly because it's my birthday month (the 15th) but its so pretty out all the time. The pumpkins are created using Zoya Destiny from their Summer Fairy Dust Collection. I created the stems using China Glaze Running In Circles. I love how this came out and it screams fall.
Rhinestone Half-Moons
For this look I started with a base of OPI My Vampire Is Buff. Then using these rhinestones I created a half-moon shape. This is my first time doing rhinestone placement and I loved how it turned out. I was surprised how easy it was!

N.Y.C.- Spring Street Swatch
Today I have NYC- Spring Street. Spring Street is a bright orange leaning red that applies in 2-3 coats. A great polish for the $1.99 price tag plus it's fast drying!

Cross-Country Nails
I have my first cross-country race of the season Tuesday. I started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff. I used Color Clun Chelsea Girl and Almost Famous to create the dots and letters. My school colors are blue and gold so i chose thoose colors to create the details.

Summer Black And White
As summer draws to a close i decided to rock neon nails one last time.
I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on all my finger. I then followed with two coats of Color Club Pop-Tastic. For the accent nail I did a chevron design using Scotch Tape and Pantone Anthracite.

Mint Green Leaves
Today I used the Stamping Decal Technique for the first time to create this look. I started with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. I then used Konad Black, NYC High Line Green, Sally Hansen Green With Envy, and Sinful Colors Envy to create the decal.

Blue Flash Nail Art
I'm back with a little bit of nail art. My plan for the summer was to post 4-6 times a week and the time slipped away from me. Well I'm going to be better about posting and I plan to have a surprise video on Monday. Anyways lets check out the polish.
I started with a base of OPI Ski Teal We Drop. I then painted a stripe down the middle using Sephora By OPI in Slushied. Using the same technique as before I striped Revlon Blue Lagoon down the middle. I finished off with a white striper.

Camo Nails
You may not know this but i'm a bit of a country girl! I currently live in the small hill town that I grew up in. My high school had under 400 kids. Today i decided to go back to my roots with camo nails.
O.P.I - Don't Mess With OPI
O.P.I - Stranger Tides
China Glaze - Mahogany Magic
Spoiled - Pumping Gas
I grabbed a dotting tool and just started stippling random colors on the nail. I didn't really do a pattern. I then added topcoat and I was not very please so I then added a matte topcoat...
I used Julep Matte Topcoat. I think it looks a lot better and more realistic. I really please with how this turned out.

Mint Manis For Talia
This is probably one of the hardest and most emotional blog post I will ever have to write. Talia Joy Castellano known as Taliajoy18 was a talented beauty guru made famous by YouTube. She has been fighting a 6 year war cancer that unfortunately was lost on Tuesday. She was an inspiration and filled every one around her with warmth and joy. Talia was an aspiring make-up artist that was so talented. I spent a good part of my day Tuesday watching her videos with my mother. Cancer effects everybody and I hope and pray that one day there will be a cure. I have lost my Grandparents to cancer and one of my Aunts is currently battling stage 4 pancreas cancer.
The genius behind the mint mani idea was Nicole from Nail Polish Wars. She came to a group of us Facebook and everyone jumped at the chance to honor Talia's memory. Please use #mintmanisfortaliajoy if you post a picture on instagram.
On my ring finger I used two coats of Angel Wings and on the rest I used Mint Sprint. I decided to keep this mani simple. Thank you Talia for being such an inspiration and rest in paradise.

Butter London- Trout Pout Swatch
I purchased this little beauty back in April. I am now finally getting around to posting it. Oh how the time flies...
Trout Pout is a uber bright coral that leans a little pink. It is shown here with 2 coats. The formula is flawless. Trout Pout is absolutely gorgeous and I don't have anything like this in my stash. I'm going to be rocking this polish through out the summer.

Princess Stamping
Hello summer!!! Now that school is out and summer vacation has started I hope to post A LOT more. Here is today's mani...
For this mani I started with 3 coats of Sation- Of Corset I'll Call You followed my one coat of Color Club- Femme Fatale. Unfortunately you can't see the shimmer of Femme Fatale in my pictures :( I then stamped using Konad Black and CH-52. I love this look and it reminds me of princesses.

Meme Week Day 7: Aint Nobody Got Time For That
Today is the last day of Meme Week :( I have challenged myself, made new friends, and learned new techniques. The last challenged is Ain't Nobody Got Time For That inspired by the fabulous Sweet Brown. I decided to push myself and water marble. This is probably the most success at water marbling. These pictures are not the best because I liked my dominant hand that best. Now onto the pictures....
I started with two coats of O.P.I- My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Then add drops of MBSW, Color Club- Chelsea Girls, and NYC- Big Apple Red.

Meme Week Day 6: Condecending Wonka
Today's theme was the most confusing for me. I needed to create a candy themed mani but I didn't want to do the typical one. So I came up with this....
I used Orly Sweet Peacock and Revlon Gold Coin on the tips to represent the foil-y wrapper thats on candy. I then grabbed my fimo canes (which I need to use more) choose dessert/candy ones and applied them with some top coat.

Meme Week Day 5: Like A Sir
Todays theme is one of my favorite memes, Like A Sir! Today's theme mean I need to create some pretty fancy nails and whats fancier then stamping?
I started out with two coats of O.P.I - My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I then applied two coats of Spoiled - Did I Dye It Too Blonde?
After all that I stamped with Konad black stamping polish and one of my Mash Plates (The number is slipping my mind). Overall I really like today's mani!

Meme Week Day 4: Cats
Today is the fourth day of meme week. We are halfway done and I have kept up with everyday. This being the first challenge I have ever done, I'm super excited that I haven't missed any days!
Todays theme is cats so I created a cat across four of my fingers. This is not my favorite mani of the week. THe whiskers came out thicker than I wanted but I guess it could be worse. I started with two coast of NYC Peaches 'n' Cream. Then I used a a black striper to create the cat.

Meme Week Day 1: All The Things!
A few weeks ago I became part of nail art challenge that expresses the wonderful world of memes in nail art! So lets roll....
Today's challenge is All The Things. Originally I was going to do jelly all the things but Day 3 is jelly so I went with Matte All The Glitters!
For this mani I did 2 coats of Spoiled Tattle Tell then applied a different glitter to each nail. On my pointers is China Glaze Glitz And Pieces. The middle has Fergie By Wet 'n' Wild in Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Ring is Spoiled Pet My Peacock. And lastly on my pinkie finger is Spoiled Jewelry Heist. I topped each finger with a coat of Julep Matte Top Coat.

China Glaze Itty, Bitty, and Gritty Swatch
Itty, Bitty, And Gritty is part of the China Glaze Texture collection that is planned to hit stores in May. I received this polish for free because of an Amazon mix up. Now on to the swatches!
I have playing round with my watermark lately and I kinda like this one. Anyways IBAG is bright almost neon coral that glows in certain light. It has a very different texture the the O.P.I Liquid Sand and I really like it. I can't wait to try other colors from this collection!

Vacation Haul
If you caught my post from earlier today (if not you can check it out here) then you would know I did some shopping this past week. Now on to the pictures.
I purchased these for about $8 each at a cute little beauty store called Beans. It is a higher scale version of Sally's.
The mall I went to had a MAC Pro Store so of course I had to go there! I didn't have anything specific that I wanted to but so I went with anything I found like I would use. Formidable was the most unique nail polish that they had so I went with that.
I went to a little boutique that was across the street from Beans called South Of The Moon. It was mostly a clothing store but they had some beauty products. I was deciding between Trout Pout and Slapper but I decided to go with Trout Pout because I don't think I have anything like it in my collection.
O.P.I - Lights Of Emerald City & I Theodora You |
MAC Nail Polish - Formidable MAC Eye Shadow - Woodwinked |
Butter London - Trout Pout |
China Glaze - Infra-Red & Itty, Bitty, And Gritty |
I ordered these from Amazon about a week ago. I originally ordered Strap On Your Moonboots and Infra-Red. Unfortunately they sent me Itty, Bitty, And Gritty. I contacted the company and they said I can keep IBAG and that their sending me Strap On Your Moonboots.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope to have most of these polishes swatched by the end of the week.
Vacation Blues
This pass week was Spring Break for me. Over break I went to Wayne, PA which is about ten minutes from Philadelphia. There was a mall 2 minutes from my hotel called The King Of Prussia Mall. It is the second largest mall in the U.S. I purchased some nail polish (including my very first Butter London) and other beauty products. I hope to have haul pictures up by the end of the day. I had some swatches set up to post during the week but never got around to it. Now that I'm back in school I should hopefully be posting more BTW I writing this from my bio class :)

Where have I been?
I would like to start off this post with an apology. I'm sorry I haven't posted. We are currently redoing our living room. So far we have painted the entire room and ripped out the carpet. We still have to install the hardwood floors. Hopefully within a week I will be able to post as normal.

Happy Easter! +Mani
I just wanna take a quick minute to wish everybody a happy Easter! If you don't celebrate Easter than I hope you have a fabulous Sunday! The Easter Bunny dropped of some Peeps, chocolate, an EOS lip balm, and $25 Amazon Gift Card.
Easter Gradient |
For this mani I put 3 coats of Revlon Blue Lagoon, a beautiful pastel blue that has a slight silver shimmer. Then I sponged on Orly Cotton Candy, my go-to light pink. This is the second gradient I have ever done and even though it could have been better, I still like it a lot! Plus it matches the dress I'm wearing today.

Neon Squares
About a week ago I purchased Color Club Poptastic! set of 7 from TJ-Maxx for about 10 dollars. The set features some beautiful neons that aren't that hard to photograph (score!) So like any nail addict I went home and immediately painted my nails :)
For this look I painted one coat of white and blocked off areas with stripping tape. This is one of the first times I have ever really used stripping tape so it was a little rough. Then I alternated different colors. I really love how this came out and can't wait to try this technique again with different colors!

Color Club - Angel Kiss
Today I have a swatch from Color Club. Angel Kiss is light sea foam green holo.
Please excuse how disgusting my cuticles look. The art class I'm currently taking is destroying my nails. Anyways, great formula, beautiful color. I recommend using a top coat for extra shine. I picked this up at a salon located in my local mall. I bought it for around $5.

O.P.I. - The Impossible Swatch
If you saw my last post, then you would know that I recently picked up the Mariah Carey Liquid Sand Set from Amazon. The first polish I have swatted for you is "The Impossible" a sandy red polish with red and silver holo dust, red hex glitter and silver holo stars.
As you can tell from my swatch, my bottle did not have any star glitter. I was most excited for this polish because of the star glitter. I contacted O.P.I and they said to mail in my bottle and they will replace it. Overall I really like this polish. Opaque in 2 coats but it could use a third. Very pretty and sparkly while still being matte. A little tricky to remove. I recommend using the foil method on this.
